Shazam! Wrath of the Gods It will hit theaters this March and was directed by first-time director David F. Sandburg. During the film’s production and so far, Sandberg has been sharing fun content about the DC movie on social media. From sharing group photos to making some funny jokes about the upcoming movie, Sandberg is a well-rounded outlet to follow on social media. Recently, he took to Twitter to tease a moment ahead Shazam! The sequel based on the popular 1988 animated movie, Akira.
“There is a shot in Shazam 2 that was inspired by this Akira moment. This was one moment where I wanted more than 1,000 nits of brightness. There was a bunch of detail inside the explosion still visible in HDR although we had to push things around to get these Power is a white look,” Sandberg wrote. Stars include Asher Angel (Billy Batson), Jack Dylan Grazer (Freddy), Ian Chen (Eugene), Jovan Armand (Pedro), Faithe Herman (Darla) and Grace Fulton (Mary). The adult-sized Shazamily will also feature actors Adam Brody, DJ Cutrona, Ross Butler, and Megan Good. Djimon Hounsou also returned as the Wizard, a role he just reprized Black Adam. New additions to the cast include West Side Story It stars Rachel Ziegler as well as Helen Mirren as the villainous Hespera, daughter of Atlas, and Lucy Liu as Hespera’s sister, Calypso.

Sandberg joked that he couldn’t find any news updates about DC Films on Google, and hilariously answered fans who asked if Shazam! Star Zachary Levi will be recast as Clayface. As he joked Shazam! Newcomer Rachel Zegler will play every “major role” in the entire series going forward.
